Web Site Audio
It's now generally recognised that a web audio player on your web pages increases visitor response by at least 30% to 50%. Whether this is true or not depends on the quality of both the written copy on the page and the website audio itself. But there's no question that speaking directly to your web site visitors really enhances their experience on your site. No matter how well you write or how well your copywriting "voice" comes over on the page, it can't compare to a personal audio message from you. Combine good copywriting skills with a few simple but sincere audio messages and you will break through that all important barrier of trust. There are two main web audio player options for your site. 1.)Software Packages That You Install On Your Computer These usually have an inbuilt recorder which enables you to plug in a mike and create your recording. They involve a one off payment to buy the software, usually from $39 to $79. The software creates a flash button and associated sound file that you have to load up to your site's server. It generates the html code that you place in your web page to call the audio from the server. It's often cited by the providers of these solutions that this is a better option than the subscription based audio web sites described below. However it depends very much on what you want to achieve with your website audio and there are advantages to both systems. If you only want a web audio player and aren't bothered about additional features then the software option is probably OK for you. Here's a list of some of the available software packages; Total Web Audio, Impact Web Audio, Flash Audio Wizard and Vocalix. 2.)Internet Based Website Audio Web based audio programmes typically offer you more facilities than the above in return for a monthly subscription of between $19.99 and $39.99. If you don't want to spend more time than necessary on recording and publishing your audio, this is probably a good way to go. Most online services offer a range of ways to use your audio by allowing you publish it as a web button, an audio postcard, a playlist or a podcast. They also allow your site visitors to phone in with audio testimonials that you can publish on your site. You can record interviews by using the threeway calling facility on your phone. This opens up lots of marketing possibilities and the ability to create your own audio products The subscription web audio player sites and programmes usually include all the above features for online video as well. This gives you two powerful ways of keeping visitors on your site longer and of closing more sales. |
